Yasoton Mud Festival, Thailand

First Full Moon in May, Yasoton, Isaan, Thailand.
The mud festival in Yasoton is known as the "Bung Ban Fai" festival. This takes place in the whole province of Isan, but the city of Yasoton has the best festival, just like as Chiang-Mai is the best place for Songkran.

Mud Festival, Boryeong, South Korea

This annual event takes place around mid July in Boryeong, South Korea. The first Mud Festival was staged in 1998 and by 2010 it attracted over a million visitors. See our Travel section.

Wet & Dirty Mud Runs

These mud run dates change every year. Some events happen several times, and at different locations. Please check with the organisers. We list them by country and in alphabethical order.

Canada

Mud Run - Canada’s Dirtiest Trail Run

First Sunday in June
Claireville Conservation Area, Hwy 427 & Steeles, Toronto, Ontario

Solo, or teams of three, with 10K, 5K or 1.5K distances, plus Kids Mini Mud Run with 1.5K distance.

This mud run is definitely not your average running race. It’s an event for anyone with an adventuresome spirit who likes to have fun and get dirty. Participants of all abilities can run, walk, skip or trot the scenic marked trail. For an added challenge there are also hills, river crossings, climbing walls, tunnels, tires, hay bales, and other obstacles along the way.

The Mud Run finishes with the main attraction: a mud pit that is 50-feet of the wettest, sloppiest, gooiest Canadian mud that you are ever likely to find. It’s cool, it’s fun, it’s permission to get wet and dirty. Spectators welcome!

What You Receive: Marked race route, electronic timing, race bib, souvenir shirt, post race showers, and a lots of wet and dirty fun!

Prutmarathon Mud Run

Probably the muddiest race in Europe. Prepare to get soaked and dirty all over.

USA

Camp Pendelton Mud Run

Lake O'Neill, Camp Pendelton Marine Corps Base, Oceanside, California, USA.
This event is limited to 3500 participants each day and sells out months in advance. The Mud Run is a challenging 10K run with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, two 5-foot walls with mud on both sides, tunnel crawl, slippery hill climb, and the final 30-foot mud pit. This is the most fun you can have running a 10K! Go as a spectator and wallow after the race.

Dallas / Fort Worth Mud Run

Trinity River Trail, Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
This event has many obstacles that have been surrounded by mud or consist entirely of mud. The web site heading "Required Race Gear" states that all participants must wear long pants and boots or shoes that cover the ankle, for their own safety. Since most participants also wear a shirt, this is definitely a fully clothed wet and muddy event. www.mudrundfw.com

Muddy Buddy Ride & Run, USA

Many venues across the USA
Muddy Buddy is all about having fun with a friend, family member, partner or co-worker! Teams of two traverse a 6-7 mile off-road course and 5 obstacles.

At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course.

At the end of the race, racers crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together as official “Muddy Buddies”!

San Diego Mud Run

San Diego, California USA.
A challenging 10k run, an exciting 5k race, and a Youth Mini-Mud Run (1k) filled with obstacles, hill climbs, trail runs, and of course plenty of mud to fill every "mudder's" desire!

Volkslauf

Near Bakersfield, California, USA.
With about 8 million gallons of water on the course, it has been suggested that Volkslauf is the most fun you can have with your clothes on, just like Wacky Wet World.
