The jeans I wear over the wetsuit are slim fit, they are pretty skinny over the suit even thoug I bought them a couple of sizes larger than what I wear without a wetsuit. Those jeans are incredibly stretchy, so I don't really feel them while swimming.
Perhaps most their most important purpose of the clothes is to make me look almost normal while walking to and from the beach, a wetsuit and life vest could look abnormal on the street.
Today I received a second hand pair of navy Chucks hi-tops in two sizes larger than I normally wear, they provide sufficient space for 2x3mm neoprene socks and a thin merino wool sock. I've worn wellies until now, they are also really good. Tomorrow I will go for a swim with the chucks on my feet.
