To the first one, I agree with you. I think these lads get the job, but just wear what they always do. I guess maybe some of them haven't got a lot of clothes, so have to wear what they've got. I guess if you are earning a few quid on a casual basis that goes straight into your pocket you can afford to get a new outfit.
The point you raise in the 2nd post has always baffled me. Why wear a really expensive jacket like North Face for painting work. I can only guess that perhaps it had a small rip in it somewhere, so was judged not to be good enough for normal wear. Love the idea of you copying him in your leather jacket. How did you trash it?
Have always liked seeing trashed clothes, and occasionally trashing them myself, especially with paint or other building materials. Silicone sealant is probably the best.
