I can see why the bus driver might not allow them to get on, especially if it was all four of them at one time. It would leave wet seats for other people and if the driver has to clean up after he might not like that.
I have always had a desire to get on a public conveyance soaking wet. One of the things on my bucket list is to go Boston, get in all the fountains they have there, and then ride the subway in wet clothes. Would love to see people's reactions. I have walked into stores wet, mostly small convenience stores, just to see what people do and say. Some don't even notice, some notice but don't say anything and some ask how I got so wet. I have even apolgized for leaving puddles on the floor and never once has anyone been angry about that. The usual response is to not worry, they will mop it up. They have to wash the floors anyway.
Glad the boys were safe and sound even if they were damp around the edges.
