You got it about right as far as the hose and basement are concerned. Looking back I can't imagine why we thought it a good pastime; no accounting for what goes through the brains of 14 or 15 year olds. Maybe it did have something to do with seeing how big everyone's boners got or if they even reacted at all, I guess we were all curious about such things at the time. It did mostly happen during the summer holidays but sometimes in term times when we were in uniform. Like you, I find now that being warm is best when getting wet.
