Follow up on first getting muddy

I've really enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences first getting muddy. It seems many of you started out with some public events. I, on the other hand, had many years of keeping my muddy sessions private before I attended an event where I could get muddy in public. Actually the first time was in college when I attended a mud bog and entered the foot race. So much fun. I have wanted to participate in another ever since and have not had the opportunity. It was many years after that before I attended my first mud volleyball game and Redneck Games and was able to get muddy with others and have other people see me get muddy. I think since I got muddy in private for so many years I tend to really enjoy the public mud events. Anyone feel the same way?
