I've had a slightly similar experience with bleach and jeans but not to the extent you experienced. Once when doing laundry I accidentally spilled some bleach on a pair of jeans. I was not happy. It wasn't a lot of bleach but it resulted in a splattering of white spots. They came through the wash ok but were relegated to just wearing around the house and doing yard work and such. Sure enough after wearing them holes developed in those bleached white spots and I trashed the jeans.

For a while it was popular to wear blue jeans with large white bleached blotches on them. I don't know how long they lasted when worn. Another fad was to take a pair of jeans and slice the front side of the legs horizontally from the crotch all the way down to the hems resulting in what looked like tattered ribbons. This was only done on the front side and not the back. The cuts were made very straight and even. It was a short lived fad.

So I'm guessing you used way too much bleach. If you want to go mudding in white jeans it would be much easier to just go out and buy a pair for that purpose and that you can wear in the mud multiple times. Yes, it is a good thing you were not commando. Who knows though, maybe you could have started a new fashion trend. It's amazing the things people have done to jeans in the name of fashion over the years.
