Muddin' in L.A.

using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6.4; yie8) from 71.156.62.96:Bought a new digital camera last year. Haven't really gotten use to it, but figured I'd take it out on a hike and see if I could take some pixs. Anyways, it goes through batteries like crazy, and holds only about 6 pixs on the pix card. I still need to figure it out more, as I can't even get the pixs from the camera to the computer. So I'll try and describe this the best I can....
So I headed out, wearin' my tall black cowboy boots, tight Wrangs, black belt, white tee from one of the Gay Rodeos, a Lee denim two-pocket jacket, and my black cowboy hat. I had a knapsack with me with some sneaks and sweats in it, just in case I got to crazy... Went up to a place in the S.F. valley that I'd been to before, but not in a long time. Unfortunately, it was pretty crowded with horse-back riders, mountain bikers, hikers, dog walkers, even some Park people. I had my camera as my 'excuse', but still felt self-conscious. I monkeyed around with the camera, took a few pixs, but wanted to get away from everyone, so I headed over to the base of the dam. Found some good mud there, but it's really open and people hike the top of the dam for exercise. Figured, what the hell, and walked around in the mud a bit. Was only about ankle deep, but was nice and creamy. A couple of guys on top of the dam waved at me, probably wondered what the hell I was doin'. Needed to find some place a little more private, so headed off down a trail. Found some good mud there, about halfway up to my knees, and splashed around a little. At the end of the trail was a small, shallow (?), creek, and on the other side, what looked like some more really good mud. I took off my knapsack, and put it and the camera on some dry ground. Started to cross the creek, and was surprised that the water was up to almost the tops of my 19" boots. A couple steps more, and F**K!, I'm suddenly chest deep in water! I scramble back out and not only am I soaked, but so it my wallet...lol. So I'm back standin' in the mud, and figure now that I'm wet, a little more mud won't hurt. So I start splashin' around and soon my boots and jeans are all muddy again. I start to get that 'feeling', so I 'accidentally' knock my cowboy hat off so it falls into the mud. Let's just say that it was more than just mud that got in and onto my hat......
After that, it was back to reality, so I cleaned up a little, sat on my ass to try and drain some of the water out of my boots, and started the long walk back to the car. Came across some more hikers, and just joked with 'em about tryin' and crossin' a creek. By the time I got back to the car, I had lost some of the mud, and bein' wet wouldn't matter much, so just hopped in and drove home. Sprayed off the Wrangs with the hose, stuffed the boots with newspaper, then hung all the clothes up to dry.
Was a fun hike and the only bummer about it all is that God-D**n camera...LOL!
