I went to this two years ago, and it was a hoot. The mud mudpit was top quality, smooth red clay, it just got thicker and better as the afternoon went on. Dove in MANY times. Only trouble - that mud REALLY made me want to lose the clothes, and brush my teeth, etc., only it was definitely not an option there. However, the event is held at a park next to a river, with nice warm water to clean up in, so clean up was pleasant. The vendors sold good barbeque, and one had tasty fried pies.
We stayed at Lumberjacks campground (about an hour+ away from Dublin, GA), where the ground was that same red clay, which takes my vote for "gay campground with the best mudpit potential" one could have easily happened, there were a number of non-grassy areas too..... however there wasn't any rain that weekend. Maybe the owners could be talked into it, but that would have to be done by someone local.
