Had an awesome one tonight. We got a thunderstorm here this evening. One of those where you can barely see to drive, where the rain is coming down in sheets. I met up with a bud of mine tonight to grab a pitcher of beer and on the way home was some heavy thunder and lightning. Knowing what was coming, I headed down to my favorite boat dock and ramp area, only about five minutes from my house. It started pouring before I even got to the docks, but I was ahead of the rain as it would get heavier, then slower. As not to waste time, I was emptying pockets as I was driving. When I got there, the rain was coming down in sheets, where you could almost not see. I was wearing faded Arizona brand jeans, a navy and pale blue stiped s/s casual shirt, navy pocket t, black belt, and a pair of my suede desert storm military boots, along with a light blue ballcap with a dive logo on it. I got a beer out of the car, walked down to the docks, and was soaked by the time i got there. It was awesome! Thunder, lightning, and the rain in sheets coming down sideways. I was so soaked I did not even have to jump in! (but of course I did anyway - what kind of fool do you think I am to pass that up?) Would have been nice to have someone to share it with down there but was not another soul around. But was still great. Especially when I jumped in and came to the surface, with the rain, thunder, lightening, wind - swimming with all clothes on, even the ballcap - makes a man feel alive!!
I have has some other good experiences lately but been too busy to post - will be taking care of that real soon.
