you should try getting your shoes and socks wet sometime it doesn't always ruin the shoes all you have to do is let them dry out and they should be just fine. I try and get mine wet as often as possible I currently am wearing a pair of wet shoes I got wet at a friends house we were in his swimming pool for a few hours and we were fully clothed shoes socks and all our other crap cell phones and walets stayed dry on the table.
