Sounds like a great day! Wish I could have been there with you to jump in the mud. Have always wanted to do that at a rodeo but rodeos aren't very common here.
Interesting that they singled you out for wearing overalls. I have always been led to believe that cowboys wear jeans while farmers wear overalls. Don't know if that's true or not but if it is I suspect it may go back to the days of cattle ranchers and the open range being taken over by farmers from the east establishing homesteads on the free land. Don't know how that worked in Arizona.Perhaps you enlighten me in that regard. I think you were a really good sport about the situation under the circumstances.
Glad you were able to get in and find a seat this year. Even better that you got to belly flop in the mud, even if you did have to climb down the fencing. Just showing off your agility and athleticism to all those jeans lovin' cowboys.
