I haven't heard back, so I assume they didn't want me. In the modern workforce you don't get rejection e-mails or telephone calls. It was probably a bad sign that they were asking about 15-year-old felony convictions. They expect someone who is willing to work in a 150°F furnace room to have a perfect background. Anyway, I have other leads. I e-mailed the vice president of another heat-treat firm. I'd probably have more opportunities if I moved to the rust belt, but I have family ties in Phoenix.
You certainly seem to be having an active retirement. I read about how you went over and above the call of duty handling that massive pontoon boat.
